I believe at the core of sport competition, players need to know that they are valued, safe, and free to be themselves before all else. Mistakes are part of the journey, loses are just data, and goals are only valuable in the person we become in pursuit of them. I believe trophies are won in training, and to win in front of thousands first requires outworking thousands in front of nobody.
